In my life, I have had many wonderful blessings. The greatest
of these blessings are my three children. They have taught me
many things such as patience, unconditional love, and
perseverance. As far as I can remember, I have always loved
children and being around them. This is why I chose as my
profession to be an educator. As my own children grew up, I
saw many stories unfold before my eyes, especially with my
middle son, Aaron.
By writing my books and sharing Aaron’s story, it is my hope
children will begin to be more excepting of other people’s
differences and to not let differences be a gap but instead a
bridge to come together.
Hello, my name is Aaron Edward Lockhart.
Although I grew up in a loving family, I struggled with many things, such as being overweight, depression, and anger problems. These emotions at times caused me to make the wrong decisions in life. I experienced being bullied and then I became the bully. I know how it feels from both sides. As a teenager, I was incarcerated for a short time. It was then, I promised to change my life for the better. I am not perfect, but I know through Christ I can do all things. One day at a time is how I live my life. I hope through my mother’s books the series of, “Aaron’s Life Journeys,” children all over the world will be affected in a positive way; and somehow, we can connect through our stories. I want children to know they are not alone and it’s okay to reach out and talk with someone.
